Programs for groups
The Israel Life Saving Federation offers fun and dynamic customized courses for private groups looking for a meaningful experience of empowerment and fitness. Participants in our customized courses learn ocean skills, water safety and aquatic rescue while expanding their own physical capabilities on the beach.

ILSF has run private programs for hundreds of participants starting as young as age 7. Participating groups range from corporate employees on beach retreats to youth groups, international schools and foreign teens on gap year with Maccabi-Yachad. ILSF also offers lectures on water safety in office settings when a day on the beach isn't an option.

Israel Surf Life Saving activity packages:
SURF, SPORT, SAND AND SAFETY: Activity for children
Format: 2.5-hour sessions
Duration: 1-3 days
Group size: Up to 25 participants
Israel Life Saving Federation teaches children to enjoy the ocean safely and with confidence, and beach fitness as a multidisciplinary sport. Participants are divided into groups based on age. Children ages 7-12 learn basic ocean awareness and safety skills, including introductory ocean swimming and surfing, and participate in sand sports and games. Teens ages 13-17 learn basic ocean awareness and safety, including introductory ocean swimming and surfing, as well as an introduction to ocean first aid and rescue. All participants must be able to swim.
BASIC OCEAN SAFETY: Activity for adults
Format: One 2-hour session
Group size: Up to 25 participants

This introductory class to ocean safety and swimming covers basic ocean knowledge, including theory about identifying dangerous currents. Participants learn to adapt their swimming to the ocean, including how to get in and out of the wave zone safely and with minimum effort, and body surfing when weather appropriate. Participants gain confidence in the ocean environment, learn what to consider when bringing friends and family members for a day at the beach, and how to respond in an emergency situation. This course includes both a theoretical component and a physical component in the ocean. All participants must be able to swim in order to participate in the physical component.
This course can be extended to include more beach fitness components.
SURF RESCUE COURSE: Activity for adults
Format: Three 3-hour sessions
Group size: Up to 25 participants

This course teaches basic techniques for ocean rescue and first aid while swimming or with a surfboard, and introduces participants to surf lifesaving as a sport. Participants are exposed to a multidisciplinary beach sport that developed as a civilian response to combat beach drownings. The course starts with basic ocean knowledge, including personal safety, ocean theory, and skills to enter and exit the wave zone, and proceeds to cover emergency response as well as multiple types of ocean rescue techniques, with and without equipment. All participants must know how to swim; this is a physically intense course. Participants are invited to participate in ILSF club activities for volunteers upon successful completion of the course.
This course can be adapted to be shorter and cover less material.
RESILIENCE FOR COMMUNITIES: Emotional regulation through sport for adopted community groups
Format: Five to eight 2-hour sessions
Group size: Up to 25 participants

This program combines sport with emotional resilience for children dealing with trauma or from disadvantaged backgrounds. Israel Life Saving Federation developed its Rescue Resilience program in coordination with the trauma first aid NGO EmotionAid in response to October 7. Participants have included children displaced from Kibbutz Alumim, Kibbutz Erez, Kibbutz Nir Am and others from communities bordering Gaza, as well as participants in WIZO’s program for at-risk youth. Give your adopted community the chance to build resilience through sport, and give your employees an opportunity to volunteer with a meaningful program. Volunteers who complete our Surf Rescue Course are eligible to volunteer in the water. Adult male volunteers must provide police clearance in order to work with children.
