Surf instructor safety certification
Surfers are an integral part of ocean safety around the world. Internationally there are more saves by surfers than by lifeguards, and the average surfer will rescue three people from drowning over the course of his or her lifetime, according to 2022 research from New Zealand.

As the official representative of the International Life Saving Federation in Israel, the Israel Life Saving Federation is proud to instruct the compulsory water safety component of the Wingate Institute's surf instructor certification program.

Surfers in the Wingate Institute surf instructors' program learn to execute rescues with their own boards, as opposed to with the dedicated rescue boards used by Surf Life Saving Federation volunteers. As part of the training, participants go through rescue simulations and first aid scenarios.
